Brussels,04 December 2018/ACP/:ACP Assistant Secretary General in charge of the Department for Sustainable Economic Development and Trade, Mr. Viwanou Gnassounou exposed the ACP Approach to mobilizing blue finance for fisheries and aquaculture at the Sustainable Blue Economy Conference in Nairobi, Kenya on 26-28November 2018.

The Conference was the first global conference on the sustainable blue economy. Over 18,000 participants from around the world came together to learn how to build a blue economy that Harnesses the potential of oceans, seas, lakes and rivers to improve the lives of all, particularly people in developing states, women, youth and Indigenous peoples; and Leverages the latest innovations, scientific advances and best practices to build prosperity while conserving our waters for future generations.

The conference captured concrete commitments and practical actions that can be taken today to help the world transition to the blue economy.
